Test Bench
In January 2009 I decided to move my test bench out of my main workshop into another part of the basement. The shop is
full of brass dust from polishing the RA Paddles and that is not very compatible with precision test equipment. I started by
building a new desk that measures 96" X 41". There is plenty of work space. The top has a carpet insert and the entire
desk is on sliders so it can be moved out from the wall to access the rear. I included a small air compressor, a wall
hung shop vac and several tool chests. It is a great place to work. The first project on the test bench was putting together
an Elecraft K3. It is amazing the quality test equipment that are available on the used market for very reasonable prices.
